The art of handmade. Is it stretching things to call it alchemy? Maybe, but there is something special going on in the act of transferring ideas in our heads into tangible things made with our hands. For the duration of the Craft Cubed Festival, individual members of Splinter Contemporary Artists will post a series of blog entries using their own words and images to explore why the art of handmade is important. These posts will provide a glimpse into each person's process of making things by hand. Splinter Contemporary Artists is a dynamic group of exhibiting artists based in the Goulburn Valley who work in a range of materials and techniques, including ceramics, textiles, sculpture and painting.
